- Look for the host’s website or name in the listing — many hosts list contact info in their bio
- Ask! Message the host on Airbnb asking if they accept direct bookings for future stays
Is It Safe?
Booking directly with a host is a well-established practice. The key is doing your due diligence:
- Use a payment method with buyer protection (credit card, not wire transfer)
- Get a written agreement or rental contract
- Verify the property exists (Google Street View, video call with host)
- Check the host’s reviews on OTA platforms before booking direct
- Trust your instincts — if something feels off, it probably is
